Come Holy Spirit

Jesus said to his apostles, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Come Holy Spirit, Enlighten Us!

Let Us Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives… Holy Spirit Comforter and Guide, inspire us to share the Gospel and renew our faith in the coming kingdom of God. Oh Fountain of life, inflame our hearts with your grace so that we may live the truth that Jesus is Lord and Savior, yesterday today and forever.  Amen.

The Holy Spirit is one person of the Holy Trinity, the Spirit of Light, of Strength, and of Love. “ With the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified”. The Spirit comes to us as a teacher, and fills us with grace, wisdom, courage and love in our hearts… The Holy Spirit opens minds to pray and to understand Christ's Death and Resurrection. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and opens us to experience GOD…

Invocation of the Holy Spirit by Pope John XXIII: stjudeccm

O Devine Spirit... “Renew Your wonders in this our day, as by a new Pentecost. Grant to Your Church that, being of one mind and steadfast in prayer with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and following the lead of blessed Peter, it may advance the reign of our Divine Savior, the reign of truth and justice, the reign of love and peace. Amen”... Come, Holy Spirit, in your power and might to renew the face of the earth.

Pentecost marks the day the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and Peter said of Jesus “GOD has made him both Lord and Messiah.” (Acts 2:36). From this fullness of his glory, Jesus poured out the Holy Sprit on the Apostles and the church...
“When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different toungues, as the Spirit enabled them to Proclaim.” (Acts 2:1-4)
Invocation to the Holy Spirit:
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth....O God, who by the light of the the Holy Spirit instructs the hearts the hearts of the faithful. grant that by the same Holy Spirit. We may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation through Christ our Lord Amen.
